Everyone wants to be successful. When one hears the word “success” the focus is generally toward “career” success. However, personal or life success, such as with your health and relationships, is also important.
Success is about setting goals, blueprinting your vision, and then adding action to the mix.
So what are the four strategies that can help you be successful?
It is vital that you set yourself goals for your personal and professional lives. These will provide a target to aim for. Once you've listed your goals then write down the steps you are going to take to achieve them. In other words, connect action with your goals.
“Inspiration without action is merely entertainment.”
It can be helpful to find an accountability partner, mentor or coach who can help and support you.
Remember That Your Personal and Professional Lives Are Inter-dependent
You may think that your career goals are totally separate from your personal goals. However, they are inter-dependent. Your career relies on your well-being, and impacts your relationships, health and happiness. Same holds true for your happiness, relationships and health being affected by your career. If you're not happy at work or doing a job you love then it will have an impact on your emotional and physical well-being, as well as affecting other areas of your personal life.
To be successful in one area you need to create success in other areas as well.
Start to look at the big picture. It can be helpful to take the “30,000 foot view.” View your overall situation from the vantage point of a bird flying overhead. This will help you "see" the big picture.
Find Your Passion and Purpose
If your personal and professional lives are interdependent, then to be successful in them you will need to discover your passion and purpose. By discovering these you will create determination to succeed, enhance your creativity, spark inspiration and be able to harness the power of flow in your activities.
Ask yourself what you really want to do with your life. What do you want your legacy to be? What would you love?
Don't Focus on the Money
While many people consider amassing wealth to be a sign of success, that should not be your end goal or sole success indicator.
Instead focus on your emotions, lifestyle and well-being. What will your life look and feel like when you have successfully achieved your goals? How will your family and friends feel? Why not create a vision board with words, quotes and pictures showing your life as a success? Our mind can be a powerful tool in bringing forth what we desire. Picture what success will look for you. What type of person will you become?
With your success, how will you be making an impact in your company and in the wider community? What will your weeks look like? Think about work/life balance and the effect on your family and relationships with friends. How will your new role or business affect your life, health and happiness?
While success can mean different things to different people, one thing all definitions have in common is that success is measured by achieving goals that make you feel positive emotions, for example, happiness and a sense of achievement. You will find the greatest success comes when you use your passions to create your goals in life and work.

One last strategy...
"Act as if your success is for certain."
~ Price Pritchett
People dream of living a different life than the one they are living. Perhaps it has to do with their career, or it can be something in their personal life. But, hoping and praying that changes will happen usually don’t serve as well as when you are visualizing your ideal life.
When you visualize how you want your life to go, it’s almost as though you are mapping out a plan. You don’t just visualize one aspect of that new life. You try to imagine all the steps you may need to take to get where you want to be. It gives you a foundation for something to strive for.
It also sets up your brain to redefine your neural pathways. When this happens, you increase the chance of accomplishing your new life.
Pretty cool! Our brains like “blueprints” and images, so get creative!
It’s often said that if you want to know what to do in life, focus on what you are daydreaming about. This makes sense as your daydreams are often about what you desire. For instance, if you have always wanted to start up a business, you will not only think about that in your daydreams, but you will think about exactly what kind of business you want to start. You will see yourself in the role. Same goes for other areas of your life, like your health, your relationships and your time and money freedom.
When you do daydream about your ideal life, try to write down your thoughts. This can be the start of your business plan, and you can set out to formalize it. One way to do this is to create a mind map, and anytime you imagine something, add it to that mind map.
It's easier today to visualize how you want your life to be. If you do an image search for your ideal life, you can find some good ideas that can help in your visualization. You may even find some videos on YouTube that can help you come up with ideas to further your vision.
You could try to come up with a vision board. This is similar to finding images on the web but instead, you peruse old magazines that you have or that you ask to obtain from your friends. The web is a great place for ideas but don’t overlook traditional methods. Don’t overlook the classifieds section of those magazines as this can be a great source of inspiration for ideas.
It’s important to continue to visualize the life you want. This reinforcement makes it become an integral part of your life, which means you will take the correct steps to move toward your goals.

Have a blessed day!
We don’t always know what our life’s purpose or journey is supposed to be or we may have so many dreams we are overwhelmed with them all. However, one thing is for sure: if we are feeling restless or discontent we are not living our dreams! Feelings of discontent and longings for something else, even when we don’t know for sure toward what we are being drawn, are actually calls from a higher power to pursue our greater good. We discover true desire by first noticing discontent.
Are you noticing your discontent?
When you experience discontent or feel restless and you’re not sure why, don’t shut it out just because you don’t know what it means. When you shut off your yearning it becomes difficult to create something more interesting. Bring those inner frustrations to the front of your mind for examination. Your discontent and frustrations are nudging you toward a more meaningful existence and urging you not to settle for mediocrity. By opening yourself up to them for examination you are allowing your discontent to lead you toward your purpose.
We grow through our challenges!
We also need to be aware of messages from those around us and not let others criticize us into shutting down our dreams, or even our discontent. Restlessness is telling us there is more out there and we are not here to lead limited cramped lives. Allow your inner voice to be louder and ring truer than anyone else’s. We are not here to settle for less than our purpose, nor should we settle for what anyone else limits us to. Each and every one of us has infinite potential for creating whatever it is we want to create.
Dreams and desires pull at us, tug at us, speak to us, and will not leave us alone because we are not meant to live cramped lives. Let these challenges and inner frustrations create the spark that will ignite the fire of your own purpose. You will know when your desire is sincere when just talking about it gives you energy and incites motivation in you, even when fruition is far off. Harness your positive energy to partake in the plan that is in store for you. In doing so, you will be honoring your discontent and letting it lead you to your greater good.

I’ve heard it said that some people live ninety years and others live one year ninety times.
Are you living your life to the fullest? Are discovering and building upon your dreams? Do you have a plan that will take you to a life you love living?
We are all capable of living our dream lives when we open ourselves up to possibilities and opportunities.
Yet, unfortunately, we have been trained to look at conditions to determine what the opportunities and possibilities are for our lives, and these conditions can be limiting when viewed with just the five senses. When we live outside the standard senses and use intuition, imagination, and perception we are able to more clearly see our heart’s desire and the dreams that will bring us the happiness we yearn.
We all have an inner voice but it is not one of reason or logic...it is the voice of guidance. This voice may not make sense to anyone else but it is there to help us recognize and nurture the thoughts that build dreams of our very own. Do you notice your inner voice, and are you listening?
The power that is within each of us is greater than anything that is in our surroundings? The power that is within each of us is greater than any circumstance of our life. The power that is within each of us is greater than our history. Each and everyone of us can make the necessary changes to live out our dreams.
So don't hold yourself back. Live out your desires that align with your core values. Begin to live and feel the principles that you believe in. Begin to live your dream!
There are all sorts of things that we can hold as ideas that will keep us from our dreams. Yet when we open up the channels of intuition, imagination and perception, and begin to put our thoughts into a positive frequency, we begin to move into our dream.
Changing our thoughts to best build our dreams is a two-step process. First, we must release condition-based thinking. If we focus our thoughts on what we don’t want to happen, we bring about those circumstances. For example, if you want to lose weight and concentrate on not eating pizza, then you crave pizza and ultimately give in to it.
The second part of the process is to focus on what you do want to create, regardless of our conditions. Using the weight loss example, if you think about the delicious salad you are going to have for dinner then you look forward to that salad and do not think about the pizza that would thwart your efforts. This is true even if you work in a pizza parlor!
Each of us is the author of our own thoughts. The past or present does not need to dictate the future. This is a beautiful thing to acknowledge, yet most of us do not. Allow yourself to explore the possibilities of your dreams and fill your mind with what you would like to be and do and create and give. Use your inner power to write the future in a way that supports your dreams.
To Your Awesomeness!

Negative thoughts are like a cancer to your spirit. They slowly eat away at you until there isn’t enough left to support your hopes and dreams. Negative thoughts are damaging because they affect everything that comes afterwards. This includes your decisions, goals, actions, and results.
Negative thinking can impact every area of your life. It limits your effectiveness and poisons your outlook on life. If the time you have to spend on self-development is limited, dealing with your negative thinking is good way to allocate your time.
Take control of your thinking and be more positive:
Are your negative thoughts impacting your results and future? Negative thinking is a challenging habit to defeat. Monitor your thoughts and defeat negative thinking before it can take root. Replace those negative thoughts with a positive alternative. Make an effort to spend some time each day enjoying yourself.
Little by little, you’ll find that you’re spending more of your time thinking positively, and your life will take a turn for the better.
So keep on the lookout for those negative thoughts and shoo them away!
Positive thinking is the secret ingredient to reaching your goals.

The confusion over cholesterol is high these days. What should we be eating and doing to keep our cholesterol numbers in check? What numbers should we really be paying attention to?
While cholesterol is an actual molecule, what it is bound to while it's floating through your blood is what's more important than just how much of it there is overall. In fact depending on what it's combined with can have an opposite effect on your arteries and heart. Yes, opposite!
Myth #1: Cholesterol is just "cholesterol"
Cholesterol is just one component of a compound that floats around your blood. These compounds contain cholesterol as well as fats and special proteins called “lipoproteins”.
They're grouped into two main categories:
"Cholesterol” isn't simply cholesterol. Because of the different components of cholesterol, it has very different effects on your body depending on which other molecules it's bound to in your blood and what it is actually doing there.
Myth #2: Cholesterol is bad
Cholesterol is absolutely necessary for your body to produce critical things like vitamin D when your skin is exposed to the sun, your sex hormones (e.g. estrogen and testosterone), as well as bile to help you absorb dietary fats. It acts as a "healing agent" for damage that may be occurring in your arteries. Not to mention that it's incorporated into the membranes of your cells for flexibility.
Talk about an important molecule!
The overall amount of cholesterol in your blood (AKA “total cholesterol”) isn't nearly as important as how much of each kind you have in your blood.
While way too much LDL cholesterol as compared with HDL (the LDL:HDL ratio) may be associated with an increased risk of heart disease, it is absolutely not the only thing to consider for heart health.
Myth #3: Eating cholesterol increases your bad cholesterol
Most of the cholesterol in your blood is made by your liver. It's actually not from the cholesterol you eat. Why do you think cholesterol medications block an enzyme in your liver (HMG Co-A reductase, to be exact)? 'Cause that's where it's made!
What you eat can affect how much cholesterol your liver produces. After a cholesterol-rich meal your liver doesn't need to make as much. Your body has a beautiful way of balancing things, especially when you eat whole (non-processed) foods.
Find out why the "Diet" mentality can reek havoc on your body's natural balance of cholesterol.
Myth #4: Your cholesterol should be as low as possible
As with almost everything in health and wellness there's a balance that needs to be maintained. There are very few extremes that are going to serve you well.
People with too-low levels of cholesterol have increased risk of death from other non-heart-related issues like certain types of cancers, as well as suicide.
And remember what I stated earlier, cholesterol is needed for the production of our sex hormones and vitamin D.
Myth #5: Drugs are the only way to get a good cholesterol balance
Please don't start or stop any medications without talking with your doctor.
While drugs can certainly lower the “bad” LDL cholesterol, they don't seem to be able to raise the “good” HDL cholesterol all that well.
Guess what does? Nutrition and exercise!
One of the most powerful ways to lower your cholesterol with diet is to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, especially vegetables (which happen to contain plenty of natural plant sterols). I mean lots, say up to 10 servings a day. Every day.
I help my clients to incorporate vegetables into their diet with each meal and snacks too!)
Don't worry the recipe below should help you add at least another salad to your day.
You can also exercise, lose weight, stop smoking, and eat better quality fats. That means fatty fish, avocados and olive oil. Ditch those over-processed hydrogenated “trans” fats.
Incorporating more exercise into your day is not as easy as it seems. One has to develop a system for changing up routine habits that are not enlisting healthier habits to ensue.
The science of cholesterol and heart health is complicated and we're learning more every day. You may not need to be as afraid of it as you are. And there is a lot you can do from a nutrition and lifestyle perspective to improve your cholesterol level.
The Restart Program can help show you the way!

Let's face it most of us know why the weight creeps on! We know that with less physical movement, more stress, a reliance on convenience foods, a propensity to mindlessly eat, less time to truly take care of ourselves, combined with our emotional connection to food due to our past, and the body's ability to store excess energy as fat, we're in for a challenging journey when we set out to lose weight. We also know from reading and actually experiencing it, "dieting" doesn't really work.
Let’s face it...the term “diet” really means:
