Let's face it most of us know why the weight creeps on!   We know that with less physical movement, more stress, a reliance on convenience foods, a propensity to mindlessly eat, less time to truly take care of ourselves, combined with our emotional connection to food due to our past, and the body's ability to store excess energy as fat, we're in for a challenging journey when we set out to lose weight.   We also know from reading and actually experiencing it, "dieting" doesn't really work.
Let’s face it...the term “diet” really means:
  • restricting our calories so our bodies go into starvation mode, thus our metabolism decreases.
  • feeling guilty because our hunger comes at us full force after restricting all those calories and we have no chance of ever holding ourselves back so we binge.
  • an increase with our preoccupation of food.
  • insecurities with our ability to lose weight because we develop a lower sense of self-efficacy and self-esteem.
Ugh! All this because we go on “diet."   Dieting means we have to step on the scale one more time and see our attempts as failures because our weight barely moves in the direction we want it to move.   This all seems psychological damaging!   So let's change the perspective into a more encouraging one, shall we?   When we set out to eat and live in a way that is nourishing to our mind and body, we then can make room for an individualized eating plan that is based on hunger, satiety, nutritional needs, flexibility and pleasure.    Wow what a great concept!   Acting as though we are not on a diet, but really on quest to improve our health! (i.e. no more.... constipation, low energy, stomach distress, high cholesterol, rotten moods, food cravings, etc.)   Learning how to read your real hunger cues, have a more grateful attitude toward yourself and food, and build the confidence with your own ability to select appropriate foods for your individual needs, sounds like a better way to go!   Never feel dis-empowered again when it comes to losing weight!   My coaching does just that!  I help people create a healthier body and mindset so wellness becomes a natural process.   Don’t miss your chance to experience what coaching can do for you!

I have developed individualized programs that can help set you on the right path toward creating a healthy body and a healthy mindset.

    It's a blog...

I am a fanatic when it comes to uncovering the truths and the falsities to sound nutrition and good health. When we use a little common sense we can back up anything, yet there is always room for debate.
Exploring within the realms of your own interpretation is a beautiful thing.
